Absolutely Snow, a specialist ski operator under the trading name of Seawake, has witnessed a remarkable transformation in its business operations and sales performance since integrating the Travelgenix platform.

In December 2023, 6 months after adopting Travelgenix's advanced technology, the operator reported an impressive 120% increase in sales, with ski bookings surging to £1.4 million in the same month.


The success story began when Absolutely Snow decided to upgrade its online capabilities with Travelgenix in May 2023. This strategic move was aimed at enhancing the booking process and expanding its reach within the travel industry. The results were immediate and impactful, with ski bookings doubling and the company expanding its trade partnerships significantly.


In a pivotal development in October 2023, Absolutely Snow signed a commercial agreement with Travel Counsellors, followed by contracts with Your Co-op Travel and Elite Travel. These partnerships were facilitated through the Travelgenix system, which provided customised portals for each travel agent. These portals allow agents to log in, search, and book online seamlessly. Since the integration of these features, travel agent bookings have accounted for 40% of all forward sales for Absolutely Snow, a notable increase from the previous setup where the operator primarily worked with a limited number of independent agents.


The implementation of the Travelgenix solution has been central to Absolutely Snow's "incredible growth," according to company officials. Duncan Gilroy, managing director of Absolutely Snow, praised the new technology for its ease of use in handling complex package offerings. "The Travelgenix system allows us to easily add and edit additional products like ski passes, ski hire, and ski school," Gilroy noted. This flexibility enables clients and agents to customise their travel packages to include various elements effortlessly.


The system's capacity for rapid updates and changes has also been a game changer for Absolutely Snow. For instance, after a visit to Are in Sweden, the team was able to create new destination and product pages within the same day, demonstrating the platform's agility and responsiveness.


Andy Speight, the chief executive of Travelgenix, explained the vision behind their service: "We started Travelgenix to provide travel companies with affordable, online bookable websites to compete with major industry players at an accessible rate." This approach not only democratises technology use in the travel sector but also empowers companies like Absolutely Snow to expand their market reach and enhance operational efficiencies.


Today, Absolutely Snow offers a comprehensive ski program across multiple destinations including Andorra, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Norway, and the newly added Are in Sweden. The operator specialises in family ski and learn-to-ski programs, providing week-long stays and short breaks across various resorts, with Andorra and Norway making up half of its business.


The partnership between Absolutely Snow and Travelgenix exemplifies how tailored technological solutions can significantly impact B2B sales in the travel industry.
